I will Survive!

Yep. I made it. I am still alive. And feeling relatively normal today. It has been 11 days since I first got hives. They decided to make a return visit today after I finished Boot Camp. Apparently they are NOT fans of heat. Other than that, my head feels good, and I managed to avoid going to the Walk In Clinic yesterday, for which I am thrilled, as that place is a just a goldmine of germs that I want no part of.

All 4 of us are headed to the Flu clinic tomorrow, to get our H1N1 vax. Should be a great family bonding experience. I am hoping that this will give us the immunity we need to stay "H1N1 FREE". I do NOT want any of us to get this. But considering the fact that I run a dayhome, and the amount of germs we are exposed to by association with the kids....I am gonna guess we will be sick. Its just a matter of time. With my luck I will put us all through the waiting for the shot, the pain of the shot, and then we will pick up the virus in the 2 weeks it takes to kick in.

The kiddo's are doing fine. Sweeter is still lovin' her Preschool, in fact she had a Halloween Party at school yesterday, and I was her guest. It was alot of fun, and I could tell that she really enjoys her time there. She continues to really enjoy her dance class as well. This week she gets to wear her Halloween Costume to class. She will either be VERY excited about that, or angry that she doesn't get to wear her special dance clothes.....

Spud is still....Spud. A crazy-busy little man. Some days I think he is going to drive me insane with his new habit of running to either the fridge or the pantry and screaming until we open them foir him. UUGH. Sometimes he is hungry. Often times he just wants to look. He seems to have an obsession with the bag of rice on the lower shelf in the pantry. Strange, strange little man. He is starting to talk a bit, but definitley in his own schedule. I can't wait til he gets more words. Hopefully that will mean the end of the SCREECH! His surgery is scheduled for Dec 3. I am actually getting really excited to get it done. Of course, I dont want him to have to go through this, but I really think it will be a good thing for his health, so I am looking forward to having it over with, and hopefully having a little man who feels GOOD!

And with that, I think you are up to speed on the recent happenings in Vogelville! Please send some STAY HEALTHY vibes our way, as we I am getting tired of sickness!

Still here

I am still here. Although it feels like I am barely making it. I have now caught a delightful cold from the kids. Fantastic. And to add to the fun, the hives like to jump back in and join the PAR-TAY whenever they so choose. Its been a fabulous week all. Just FABULOUS!

Collage

Here is Spud`s collage that I created for my Photo Course Assignment, extreme close ups!

Haze

I am sitting here in a drug induced haze, my hand wrapped in gauze, covering an IV

Why you ask?

Hives.

Thats right.

My body is covered from my face, to the soles of my feet.

With hives.

And they itch.

I have been to the hospital 3 times in the last 3 days.

2 IV`s

Multiple drugs.

And they still wont go away.

Apparently, it is some sortof virus.

So this could last from 7-10 days.

Lovely.

In no particular order

Weekend Happenings

Sorry for the lack of blogging lately! I have been busy taking a ton of pics for my photo course, and I have  had 4 days off from the dayhome, so I have just been taking time to hang out with my family.

Sweeter had a sleepover at Nana and Popa's on Saturday evening. She certainly is our "Little Miss Independent". She has absolutely NO troubles leaving us, and usually ends up not wanting to come home!

Spud, on the other hand seems to very much be a homebody. In fact, when we were at Mom & Dad's for Thanksgiving Sunday evening, Levi found our jackets, and continued to bring them to me until I put them on him and myself. He then proceeded to walk to the door and have a tantrum til we took him home. I guess he was done.

I am a little nervous, as I have agreed to do Family pics for some of my relatives....I just hope that they turn out decent, and that my "clients" are satisfied.....

Other than that, just another weekend in Vogelville! Back to the grindstone tomorrow...could be tough after 4 day break.....especially since I have Bootcamp bright and early tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Yay!

I got my first lesson for my 8 week course today, and already, just using the techniques in the lesson, I have gotten some great shots of the kids!!! This weeks lesson is getting the kids to look and laugh or smile at the camera...sounds easy, but it really isn't especially with older kiddos, because they give you that cheese smile. I hadn't really realized that I didn't get those shots, but now, I know to pay attention! Dont get me wrong, I still totally love my candid not-looking-at-the-camera shots, but I love that I have one more tool to great shots!

I plan to share with you the pics I have submitted after I send them in....can't wait to see how next weeks lesson helps me improve!!!!

My butt has officially been...KICKED

Yep. Thats right. Started my Fitness Bootcamp today. I have never in my entire life, sweated so much. My hair was so wet, it felt like I had just got out of the shower...disgusting...and strangely gratifying at the same time.

I am sore right now, particularly my thighs. And if I breathe really deep, it feels like my lungs are burning...who the heck knows what thats from?? I dunno. Can't say I have ever worked so hard for an hour straight in my life, so maybe this is my lungs way of protesting.

In any case, I am really hoping this gets me back into better shape. I am feeling tired of having a mommy body, and since I have a lot longer to live in this body, it would be nice to be happy with it. I weighed myself today...so I will let you know the final results at the end of this!!!

Not Me Monday

Monday is here! May as well embrace it, and do a little confessional, right?? And remember to head on over to http://www.mckmama.com/ to check out some other great confessions!

I most certainly did not allow Sweeter to have a chocolate chip cookie for breakfast today. Never. Everyone knows breakfast is the most important meal of the day!

And while we are on the topic of food for my kids, I did not allow them to eat Gummy Worms at 10 AM.

I did not cave in and give Spud a bottle of milk at 5 AM Sunday morning, just to gain 2 hours of sleep. I did not try it again this morning, and was certainly not dissapointed when he drank the milk, and was still awake.

And lastly, I did not take a 2 hour afternoon nap on Sunday. I am always fully rested, and better spent my time cleaning my house and preparing for the week ahead.....right.

Is there anybody out there????

I thought it would be fun to ask anyone who is reading to leave a comment! I really don't get any comments, which is fine, but it often leaves me wondeing if there really is anybody reading?? So do me a favour today, and leave a comment!

Fall is here

It was abundantly clear when you looked out the window this morning, that fall, is, in fact, here. Frost covered everything.

Sweeter was thrilled "Mama there is little snow here!!".

I wasn't so thrilled.

Winter is not my season of choice. I hate the cold, the snow (except at Christmas), bundling kids up, scraping windows, starting the car....blech.

Apparently, her urge to eat snow constantly did not subside over summer...although I was hopeful that it had when she declared "little snow is yucky" after her first taste. Apparently that taste wasn't enough to stop her as she went directly to her slide and started to scrape frost off and eat it.

Spud had a good time outside too, and looked awfully cute all bundled in his toque. It appears that although his legs didn't grow much over the summer, his noggin sure did, so we will be heading out this weekend to shop for bigger winter gear for him!
