In case you missed me

Since I last posted I have

...painted our door blue (love)
...tried to make my daughter feel better after taking a fall at the park and biting her lip to the point of blood
...changed what feels like a billion poopy diapers
...watched a parade
...not got enough sleep
...started to count down the hours till I am on Vacation (4.5)
...thought about painting other walls in my house
...remembered why I hate painting
...searched online for bedding for my kids rooms

Exciting, huh?

3 years ago, we met our baby girl for the first time.

3 years ago, I became a Mom.

3 years ago, I realized that my heart no longer belonged to me, but to my children.

3 years ago, I fell more in love with my husband as I watched him hold our newborn.

3 years ago, I realized that I was born to be a Mom

3 years ago, my life ceased to be my own.

And I wouldn't change a thing.

Happy Birthday My Sweet Baby Girl!

Sadness.

Today should be Not Me Monday...a fun lighthearted post.

But I am not up to it.

You see, Sellan, son of MckMama (the woman who invented Not Me Monday) is Sick.

Really Sick.

He is in the hospital right now in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

And his heart is starting to shut down.

Stellan suffers from SVT (a super fast heart rate).

He was supposed to die in utero because of this.

He didn't.

But its back.

And they cant get it to stop.

And it doesn't look good.

My heart is breaking.

I snuggle my own little man as much as possible.

Please help me pray for Stellan.

Babies shouldn't be sick.

No one should have to watch their baby suffer.

This sucks.

Summer Lovin'

Or...maybe just Lovin' Summer! Pics from today in no particular order. Enjoy

You know you have kids When...

....you find a random Shrek Band aid stuck to your couch

...you realize that the reason your freshly clean load of laundry is covered in white fuzzies, is because you find a random pull up in the pile while folding.

...you clean your fridge and find 6 half full sippies of unknown beverage...that have been in said fridge for an unknown amount of time.

....your deck is riddled with stinky diapers tossed out the door during the day, cause they are better out there than stinking up the house.

...you need to watch where you step in the basement play area, because those little toys are like land mines waiting for an unsuspecting foot.

...your vehicle appears to be a dumping ground for trash.

Yep....I definitely have kids!

Beat the heat

Spud has figured out his new favourite way to beat the heat....

Besides running around naked in a diaper...that works too!

Not MY Child Monday!

A little twist on your average Not Me Monday! Welcome to the very 1st Not MY Child Monday!

This week, instead of clearing up what I didn't do this week, I Will let you in on what my adorable kids couldn't have possibly done....

And be sure to head on over to MckMama's @ http://www.mycharmingkids.net/, to see what her monkeys didn't do!

I have never caught my son playing in the toilet. Never. And there most certainly was not pee in there since Sweeter forgets to flush sometimes....

Speaking of toilets there is no freaking way Sweeter insists on reaching in sometimes to make sure the toilet paper she has just deposited into the dirtiness gets wet. No way. Not my child!

Sweeter has never gotten into Zinc Bum Cream left out by yours truly, and proceeded to "paint" herself with it. Despite what the photographic evidence may tell you.

Nor has spud ever decided to eat leftover noodles from the garbage....

Not MY Children!!!!

Have a fantastic week!

Simply fantabulous!

We are just wrapping up a absolutely fantastic weekend here in Vogelville! Truly, we had nothing but fun!

Saturday we hit the Waterpark @ West Edmonton Mall. I have been there many times myself, and we took Sweeter once when she was Spud's age, but I haven't been since then. They have updated the kids area, and let me tell you, it was AMAZING!!! Water slides, and pouring water, tons of places to climb, it is a kids paradise. The kids had a blast...well, OK so did Cody and I, and we can't wait to go back!!! I took my camera, but there isn't a whole lot of picture taking opportunity when you are having fun getting wet...however we did get these shots in the wave pool (which was also a hit with Sweeter!)

Both kids passed out for a much needed nap on the way home....bliss!

Today, we headed up to Edmonton again, this time we did a little shopping, as we never managed to get any done at West Ed yesterday, and then we took the kids to Chuck E Cheese's for lunch. This place brought me right back to my childhood. When I was a kid, we had a yearly tradition of going to Candy Cane Lane to see the Christmas lights, and going for supper at Chuck E Cheese's. My parents still talk about how horrific the food is (and after today, Cody agrees, I however thought the Pizza was decent!) And I can still clearly remember playing the games and collecting my much treasured tickets....needless to say I was very excited to take my kids today.

I was not disappointed! Sweeter had sooo much fun, and Spud got in on the action too! I love seeing them smile....

I could not have asked for anything more this weekend...but wait...just when I thought it could not possibly get any better, it did. My amazing husband informed me that we would soon be going to see this for our 4 year (How is it 4 years already???) Anniversary

AHH! I am so excited! I have heard nothing but Great reviews for this show! I really wanted to go, but I didn't think I would be able to and I was pretty disappointed! I cant wait for Sunday!!! Thank you Cody!!

Hows that for a fantabulous weekend???

When I grow up....

Sometimes I like to think about what my kids will be when they grow up. Not that I am at all interested in that happening any time soon, but I love seeing little bits of their personalities developing, and wondering if that particular piece of them will lead them down a certain career path. My most recent guesses:
Gymnast, for Sweeter. Or Dancer. For obvious reasons given the pictures, but also because as of late she seems to want to "perform" for us. "look at this trick!" is one of her newest phrases, and she always want us to be watching her.

And Mechanic, or engineer, for Spud, because he is always looking at how things work. He walks up to this overturned wagon multiple times when we are out in the yard, and spins the wheels, intently watching them. Usually he squats down to get a closer inspection. The other day at Nana and Papa's he spent a good half hour playing with a metal storage container Nana had in her Tupperware drawer. Unlike some babies who would just want to get the metal to male a "clanging" noise, Spud was intently trying to fit the lid back on. Totally an engineer in the making!

Same old, same old

I haven't posted in a few days...I have nothing inspiring to say, and really a whole lot of nothin' to share....

The only real piece of news is that Spud actually slept though the night for the last 2 nights. I am sure I just jinxed it by sharing that, so I hope y'all read it and celebrate my 2 days of uninterrupted sleep ( and yes it is the 1st 2 consecutive days of uninterrupted sleep since June 14 of last year. Yeah. Love the little dude, but sleep is not his forte, to say the least).

Today was actually warm (Summer?? Whats that?) So the kids spent some time out in the sprinklers. I do have some pics that I may share if I feel ambitious later today.

So, thanks for stopping by for an uninspiring update...hope to have something more exciting to share soon!

Not me Monday

Another edition of Not Me Monday is here! At least it makes Monday sorta fun...right???

In any case, head on over to MckMama's blog at http://www.mycharmingkids.net/ to see what others haven't been doing...oh and stay tuned for next week...its Not my CHILD Monday...ohhh do I have some gooders for that one!!

This week I, definitely did not use my kids baby wash as bubble bath...multiple times. It smells soooo good!

And I of course did not halfway to the park, and look at my daughter only to realize her hair was a complete rats nest. I would never allow my kids to go out looking like that, and I obviously did not continue on to the park....

My kids were most certainly not treated to McDonald's this week while Daddy was out of town. I would never simply take them because the play place keeps them entertained, and therefore gives me a break, Not Me!!!

I absolutely did not go to WalMart with a 5 item list...and leave with a $200 bill! Hello, I definitely have more self control than that and always buy only my necessities on my list!

There is no possible way I allowed Sweeter to sleep with me on Saturday night since Daddy was out late. Not me, my kids are absolutely trained to sleep only in their own beds...while we are on the topic, there is no way that my nearly 13 month old still gets up in the night for milk. Uh-uh not in my house!

Have a good week!!

Plumb tuckered out...

Spud was up @ 6 this morning. Not really unusual for him. However for the last few days, he has been skipping a nap, so I wasn't surprised when he wouldn't go down this morning.

We just continued on with our day, went to the park, and then came home for more play and to make lunch. I put him in his highchair to have an "appetizer" while I cooked lunch, and when I glanced over here is what I saw:

Apparently up @ 6 + no nap = one very tired small boy. Here's hoping he has a major nap this afternoon!

Words, by Spud

Ay-Ya = Annie

Da = That

Dada = Daddy

Ah-Da = All Done

Eee = Peek (+ he does the gestures)

Oooh-Oooh = Choo-Choo (+ gestures)

------------------------------------------

And in case I didn't already know my boy was a wild child, he climbed up the playground equipment today, and threw himself head first down a fairly large slide......

When he got to the bottom and face planted....

He laughed!

I think I am in trouble.

Pieces

Cutest baby parts ever !!!

Murphy's Law

Spud slept til after 7:30 this morning.

This is pretty much unheard of.

When I snuck in at 7:20 to make sure he was OK this is what I found

Of course, he would choose a Tuesday to do this, instead of a Saturday...

Isn't that just Murphy's law??

Not Me Monday!

Yep, Not me Monday again. Not sure where the week has gone! Seems like I just did one of these posts! Anyway, Please head on over to http://www.mycharmingkids.net/ to see what MckMama and everyone else has "not" been up to!

This week I most certainly:

did not look over at Spud to see that his diaper was so full of pee that it was sagging out the leg of his shorts. It would never slip my mind to change my baby!

did not attempt to bake strawberry pie, and in the process ruin 2 crusts and a thing of creamcheese, and need to make a mad dash to the store. Not me, I am a regular Betty Crocker!

Would never have allowed Spud to wear his jammies for an entire night and day. They were not so disgustingly filthy that even his daddy commented on it. Allow me to reiterate..my children are always perfectly presentable!

That's all for now! Have a fabulous Monday!

Amidst the Chaos...

I am tired. And grumpy. And I have 6 kids 4 and under running around my house. And that tends to make me stressed. Which equals more grumpy. Yeah. As you can tell I am in a spectacular mood today.

But amongst the chaos, and the grumpiness, I know that it will be okay.

Because of things like this:

Daddy and Spud playing Peek

And this:

Sweeter's face painted

The above are pics from our Canada Day yesterday. And while I did have a post planned all about it, I thought this one was more important. And indicative of my mood today.

Cody, Kayla, and Levi, you are my sunshine, I could not make it through the day without you guys. Thanks for keeping me smiling, even on my grayest days.
