Random thoughts

We have Family pics tomorrow. Wish me luck. Could be streassful. Althoough my Monsters are pretty used to being chased by a lady with a camera. So maybe we will be cool.

Work is still going good. BUUUUUSSSSY! RRSP season + working at a Bank = CA-RAZY-NESS!!!

Kids start at Daycare on Monday. I think we are all looking forward to it.

Have spent the last week and a half watching the Olympics. I don't know why but they suck me right in. Love it.

My livingroom looks like a very large Hurricane ripped through it. However it was actulally a very small boy that caused most of the damage.

Speaking of a Small Boy, he said "ove eww" or Love You to me tonight while I tucked him in. The best!

And Sweeter told me "I miss you so much Mama" when Daddy and the kids called me after he picked them up from Dayhome today. Loooove.

The Spud had a Dr. Appt yesterday. His 18 month check. Or  20 month, if your Mommy is a slacker and neglects to book you an 18 month appointment. He is 26 lbs now, and apparently is 25% for height. I don't fully believe it, as he has been 10th percentile or less his whole life...but I guess he is bound to grow at some point!

Skating

We took the kids Skating on the weekend. We bought Sweeter a pair of Hockey skates. I am not sure who was more excited to go, Sweeter or Daddy. Actually, I am pretty sure Daddy was more excited!

Anyway, thought I would share some of my fav pics, in no particular order, hope you enjoy!

Doesn't she look sooo proud of herself???

Sunday

Ahhh. Sunday. In Vogelville, Sunday is Kinda the beginning of a new week.

Sundays are cleaning day.

Sundays are shopping day.

Sundays are relax day.

Today, we cleaned, we shopped and we skated. Sweeter got a new pair of "Big Girl" skates, so we headed out, but more on that in a later post.

Today, we watched the Olympics.

Today, we hung out and ate Frozen Fries (mmmmm I love Frozen Fries!!). And if you are Spud you ate a TON of other things too. I am not sure where that kid puts it but he is at the Pantry door every 5 minutes...to the point where it is freakin' ANNOYING....I am not sure if we somehow bred a snack monster, or if he really is that hungry.

Tomorrow is the beginning of the last week my kids are going to Dayhome. We have signed them up for Daycare starting March 1st. It really feels like the right decision. I know Sweeter will love it, and I know that Spud will grow to love it. He has to learn how to sleep on a mat...could be interesting. Lucky for me, I dont have to deal with it :) Sweeter will absolutely thrive in the busy-ness, the structure, and the learning Daycare will provide, and Spud will learn and grow in leaps and bounds, since the room he is in is full of kids from 19mo-3 years.

What'd you do on Sunday?

Dentist

Sweeter had a dentist appointment yesterday. Her 1st dentist appointment. I figured her teeth were pretty good, but you never really know. Cuz, lets be honest, brushing small kids teeth is not an easy job. At all. And to be even more honest, I tend to be kinda a slacker when it comes to brushing their teeth. There. I said it. I am a bad-teeth-caring mama. Truly, sometimes its more of a pain in the butt then I can handle in the already tense minutes before bedtime. So I have been known to skip it. More than I should. That said, it has been much better since I have been back to work and we have been into more of a routine. But, even tonight I put small Boy to bed this evening sans teeth brushing. He was tired. Crying for nigh-nigh, and it just wasn't woth the hassle. I'll get 'em in the morning :)

So back to the appointment, Cody got the honours of taking her. I was more than OK with that, since I had no idea how it was gonna go. But, apparently it was "Cool" (according to Sweeter). She did great, was more than willing to open her mouth. Got to wear some cool shades to protect her eyes fom the light, and was super pumped with her new Toothbrush, and the clapper toy she chose from the "treasure chest". And her teeth? They are great. And we were told that we were "doing a perfect job". I guess my lazy brushing habits haven't ruined them after all.

Meet Crunchy

Meet Crunchy AKA Crunchy Monkey

He is Spud's Loyal friend.

He happily puts up with our Small Boy chewing on his ears, arms, tail and nose.

Now meet Crunchy 2, 3, and 4.

We also have a Crunchy 5 who unfortunately missed out on his 15 minutes of fame due to being "Dayhome" Crunchy. Poor guy was packed away in the dayhome bag.

There is no way our Spud will ever need to be without a Crunchy by his side....at least until he is 18 :)

Not ME Monday!

Monday again! Although I can't complain, since it is a Holiday Monday!!!

Go and check out http://www.mckmama.com/ to see what others hasve NOT been up to!

As for me there is no way that I had a nap yesterday. Nor was I such a bear before I had a nap, that I could hardly stand myself, let alone my poor family that had to put up with me.....Sorry guys!

I most certainly did not pay $5 at the grocery store yesterday for Creme Brulee dessert...I had never had it and was intrigued. I did not find out that I wasted my $5 because Creme Brulee is so not my thing. Darn it! I haaaate when I get all pumped up about something, and then it turns out to be no good. Anyone want the leftover creme brulee??

And finally, I did not let the laundry build up so badly this week that the kids had no clothes to wear...and I had 3 overflowing baskets of laundry to deal with. I HATE when I do that!!!

And you? What did you not do this week???

Way to go Big Boy!!!

My little boy is quickly growing up.

Today he turns 20 months old! (How did that happen??? And how the heck did I survive being 6 months preggo when Sweeter was this age?? )

And today, he asked to go pee on the potty! And he went! I am so proud.

Make no mistake, I will not be potty training him any time soon. I plan to wait til 2.5 or so. I started Sweeter at 2. And she wasn't really trained til 3. I have no urge to go through a full year of potty training again. So I will wait til he is good and ready.

All that said, Way to go my Big Boy!!! Mama and Daddy are proud of you! You are turning into such a great little man.

Vent

Be prepared.

If you are not into a vent type post, please, close the blog now.

For today, I'm going to vent.

Yes, I have been loving my job, and truly I still do. But it has it's days, ya know? Today I felt like I had a Million and One things to do. And I feel like I didn't accomplish anything. It was a loooong busy day. Blech. I realize it is my 1st real week on the job,and I am my own worst enemy, but I feel like I am doing a CRUDDY job. I feel like I haven't accomplished anything that will help me meet my goals. And, I feel I am not getting anywhere for next week either. Uuuugh.

Added to that, my dear Spud is still a poop machine. Frig. The kid won't stop. I have been giving him Kaopectate like its candy, to no avail. Poor kid. As such, one aforementioned Spud is in a very bad mood. Not that I blame him, but after a long day at work, a long evening with the kids is less than appealing.

And to top it all off, Sweeter has been scrapping at Dayhome again. Apparently, she throws tantrums, throws stuff, hits, etc. Great.

I know tomorrow will be better...I just need to get through today.

Thanks for listening...errr reading

Overheard

My children are going to kill me when they are older and read this blog...but it's my blog, so unfortunately for them, I get to tell all the embarassing stories I want! Sorry kiddos :)

Today, when Sweeter was in the tub, we overheard this:

Huuuuuuuuuuuuge, and I mean HUGE ripper fart from one small girl. Seriously it was MAN sized.

Sweeter, to herself, after said fart: Oh! There is bubbles.

Cody and I were in Spud's room, cracking up.

Sweeter, excitedly, again to herself: I made bubbles out of my Mermaid Tail! (She pretends to be a Mermaid in the tub)

I am still laughing. Ahhh. Days with kids are never boring!!

Note to my kids: Yes, I realize in 10 years you will be mortified reading this blog. I have to share these moments though...they are what make being a Mommy fun. Sorry. I promise, when you will have kids, you will have free reign to humiliate them in retaliation. Love you both. Even when you fart. :)

Ramblings.

Poor man. My poor little man. The Spud has been a sick man this weekend. He is acting fine, playing, eating drinking.

He is just...ahem...pooping. Alot.

So much so that his poor lil' bum is very sore. Owwww. Owwww. Owwww.

He puked a couple times too.

It's been going on since yesterday, so I sure do hope this is better by tomorrow. For the sake of his bum. Not sure it can take much more.

We headed over to friends house this evening to watch the SuperBowl. I can't say that I really understand, or care about the game. That said, it is always fun to get together with friends, and it is a fantastic excuse to eat some yummy food!! Spudder seemed to be doing better, and our friends had been over Friday anyway, so if they were gonna get sick, it was too late already. He did good til about 7:00 and then he looked at me and said "go!!" and then waved, and said "buh-bye Eb-one (everyone)" So we left before the game was over, but when someone asks so cutely how do you say no?? Loooove that kid.

Sweeter has school tomorrow, and it's their Valentine's Day. And, I forgot. Sooo tonight at 7:30 there I was running to the store, in my plaid Jammie pants, Dress coat, and black work shoes to get Valentine's cards for her class. Stylish I tell ya. When we got home, Sweeter and I sat down, and I helped her sign her name 20 times. She was doing really good with it, a few of them she even signed all on her own! I am so proud of her!

And with that I will end my ramblings and head to bed.
